Your mission

As Team Lead for Software Development – Fleet & Services (m/f/x), you are the driving force at the intersection of PLC systems and modern cloud infrastructure. You lead a team that connects our plants, makes real-time data actionable, and actively drives digital solutions like our Remote Plant Operation Cockpit.

1/ Fleet Management & Operations

You own and shape the strategy for plant connectivity and secure remote access.
You optimize deployment processes (CI/CD) for over-the-air (OTA) updates in the field.
You ensure that our plants can be monitored and controlled at all times.

2/ Data Infrastructure

You lead the design and operation of a highly available data infrastructure.
You manage modern time-series databases (e.g., InfluxDB, ClickHouse) and implement scalable streaming solutions (MQTT, Kafka).
You ensure real-time processing of sensor data in close collaboration with our Data Analytics & Digital Solutions team.

3/ Services & Core Libraries

You drive the development of central services and libraries (data logging, alarming systems).
You are responsible for monitoring IT resources and integrating the field level (e.g., via EtherCAT).
You support our PLC developers as well as application and control engineers with software development and feature implementation where needed.

4/ Leadership & Strategy

You lead and mentor a team of software developers, supporting both technical and personal growth.
You shape the long-term vision for our software stack and translate business requirements into a clear technical roadmap.
As the interface between operations, engineering, and data science, you prioritize requirements and translate them into a structured product backlog.

Your profile

You hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
You bring several years of hands-on experience in software development with hardware integration (ideally in the energy sector or Industrial IoT).
You've led development teams (at least technically) and thrive in agile project management (SCRUM) as well as precise requirements engineering.
You are skilled in Python, C#, or Rust and have no fear of PLC systems (e.g., Beckhoff TwinCAT).
You're a true generalist and act as a translator between cloud architects, DevOps engineers, and PLC programmers.
You speak English fluently and German at a good level (minimum B1).

Deine Aufgaben

Als Team Lead Software Development – Fleet & Services (m/w/d) bist du entscheidende:r Architekt:in an der Schnittstelle zwischen der SPS-Welt (PLC) und moderner Cloud-Infrastruktur. Du führst ein Team, das unsere Anlagen vernetzt, Echtzeitdaten nutzbar macht und digitale Lösungen wie unser Remote Plant Operation Cockpit aktiv vorantreibt.

1. Fleet Management & Operations

Du verantwortest die Strategie für die Connectivity und den sicheren Remote Access unserer Anlagen.
Du optimierst Deployment-Prozesse (CI/CD) für Over-the-Air (OTA) Updates im Feld.
Du stellst sicher, dass unsere Anlagen jederzeit überwachbar und steuerbar sind.

2. Data Infrastructure

Du leitest das Design und den Betrieb einer hochverfügbaren Dateninfrastruktur.
Du betreust moderne Time-Series-Datenbanken (z. B. InfluxDB, Clickhouse) und setzt skalierbare Streaming-Lösungen (MQTT, Kafka) um.
Du stellst sicher, dass Sensordaten in Echtzeit verarbeitet werden können und arbeitest dabei in enger Abstimmung mit unserem Data Analytics & Digital Solutions Team.

3. Services & Core Libraries

Du steuerst die Entwicklung zentraler Dienste und Bibliotheken (Data Logging, Alarming-Systeme).
Du verantwortest das Monitoring und die Anbindung der Feldebene (z. B. via EtherCAT).
Du unterstützt unsere SPS-Entwickler sowie Application und Control Engineers bei der Softwareentwicklung und setzt Feature Requests um wo nötig.

4. Führung & Strategie

Du führst und coachst ein Team aus Software-Entwicklern und förderst deren fachliche wie persönliche Weiterentwicklung.
Du gestaltest die langfristige Vision für unseren Software-Stack und übersetzt Business-Anforderungen in eine konkrete technische Roadmap.
Als Schnittstelle zwischen Operations, Engineering und Data Science priorisierst du Anforderungen und überführst sie in einen strukturierten Product Backlog.

Dein Profil

Du verfügst über einen Masterabschluss in Informatik, Ingenieurwesen, Physik oder eine vergleichbare Qualifikation.
Du bringst mehrjährige Praxiserfahrung in der Softwareentwicklung mit Hardware-Bezug mit (idealerweise im Energiesektor oder im Industrial IoT Umfeld).
Du hast bereits Entwicklungsteams geführt (mindestens fachlich) und beherrschst agiles Projektmanagement (SCRUM) sowie präzises Requirements Engineering.
Du arbeitest sicher mit Python, C# oder Rust und hast keine Berührungsängste mit der SPS-Welt (z. B. Beckhoff TwinCAT).
Du verstehst dich als Generalist:in und fungierst als Dolmetscher:in zwischen zwischen Cloud-Architekten, DevOps und SPS-Programmierern.
Du sprichst fließend Englisch und hast gute Deutschkenntnisse (mindestens B1).
