Who we are
Your mission
- You independently develop a new simulation foundation within the company:
- You learn our existing simulation models (ANSYS Fluent)
- You transfer these to OpenFOAM and validate them against measurement or simulation data
- You make the validated OpenFOAM models accessible to a broad user base (training sessions, documentation, reporting)
- You take on the numerical simulation (CFD) of components and processes within our power plants and contribute to their optimization
- You act as the point of contact for cross-departmental CFD simulations – from feasibility assessment to scheduling and evaluation
- You define system boundaries and create geometries and meshes as the basis for simulations
- You identify relevant phenomena and boundary conditions and evaluate simulation models and results
- You interpret, document, and present the final results to the relevant process owners
Your profile
- You hold a successfully completed Master's degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Energy and Process Technology, or a comparable field
- You bring at least 3 years of experience with numerical simulation:
- You have excellent knowledge of flow simulation using OpenFOAM
- You have good knowledge of common programming languages
- Basic knowledge of ANSYS Fluent is a plus
- You bring a strong fundamental understanding of process engineering (flow, thermodynamics, phase change, chemical reactions, electrochemistry, kinetics, heat and mass transfer)
- You work independently, thoroughly, and at times creatively, combined with a hands-on mentality
- You enjoy working in a young, dynamic team
- You're passionate about renewable energy and want to help shape the power plant of the 21st century
- You speak very good German and English, both written and spoken
